The Art of the Guitar was a whirlwind weekend event featuring an exhibition of work by eight Manitoba luthiers, two concerts, several hands-on workshops, an artist roundtable, and a retirement reception for luthier Gavin Baird.   Planned in partnership with the Winnipeg Folk Festival and the West End Cultural Centre (where the event was held) the event attracted more than 400 visitors.  The exhibition and roundtable included work by artists Gavin Baird, Al Beardsell, Fred Casey, Ray Gander, Jeremy Hamm, Igor Kornilov, Jordan McConnell, and Florian Vorreiter.  Thanks to Fred Casey for his work on the planning committee.  A side benefit to this event was the acquisition of 15 plinths, now stored at the WECC and used for our many exhibitions.
This exhibition was in partnership with the Winnipeg Folk Fest and the West-End Cultural Centre.
