Artist Statement
Form and aesthetics are important elements in my slip cast functional ware, with a perfect balance between function, comfort and beauty found in my designs. Here I layer several different colours of slips within the mold itself, afterwards I reveal these hidden layers by carefully removing the surface. This subtractive process is both a visual and tactile experience. The surprisingly supple surface texture of the raw clay compliments the negative line movement and colour, resulting in a lovely dining experience.
