We are now accepting applications for summer residency at The Contemporary Textile
Studio Co-op for 2014. Summer residents have 24-7 access to our beautiful, 1100 square
foot, equipped studio at 401 Richmond Street West, Toronto.
• Duration: May 1 – August 31, 2014.
• Supervised access to our studio space.
• Subsidized monthly studio fees (student resident fee is $175/month).
• Eligible to attend the annual international artist summer workshop (held in June) at the
reduced rate of $165 plus $50 materials fee.
• Consideration for summer residency is contingent on applicants’ intention to return to
school full-time in the fall.
• Successful applicants will be expected to provide their own supplies and specialized
equipment, including screens, fabrics, materials, pigments, dyes, and auxiliaries.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
• Résumé and a brief expression of interest outlining your interest in, and any applicable
experience related to, the textile arts and to working within a co-operative arts studio.
• 3-5 digital images (JPEG) with image list indicating dimensions, date, title and materials, or
reference to website.
• Applicants must describe their intended project, length of time requested for the residency,
studio usage and equipment needed and outline prior experience in a shared studio
environment.
• 2 professional references with addresses and phone numbers. References should include a
textile instructor and studio technologist and must be other than those of an existing Co-op
member.
