How Sweet It Is – A Juried Group Show

How Sweet It Is – A Juried Group Show
For our next group show, Swoon wants you to get sticky and sweet! This show will be a celebration of the sweet tooth! From chocolates to strawberries, cakes to candy, what is your ultimate craving?

This show is open to all artists and craftspeople and I encourage you to think outside of the cake box. I want to see jewelry designers, clay artists, textile artists, woodworkers, folk artists, metal smiths, sculptors, and everyone in between submit. Painters you say you don’t paint still-life, well throw a slice of pie in your landscape, have a cupcake in the harbour, get surrealistic and have fun.
This juried show will take place July 5, 2014 – July 27, 2014, with an opening reception on July 5th from 2-5pm.
We are asking that artists submit only two images. Remember, the jury only has your image to base its decision on so the quality of your photo is very important. Be sure to attach your image as a jpeg and that it is a large file.
Images for consideration, not the actual work, must be emailed to the gallery by June 10, 2014. ([email protected]) Submissions will be reviewed by a jury, and artists will be notified of the results by email.
Work must have been created within the last year and must not have been previously shown. Artists can submit up to two works and should include the size, price and medium of each piece.
Note – If framing is required- works on paper should contain a white matt and a simple black frame; works on canvas (2” stretchers) that are unframed must have finished edges and works on canvas that require frames (thin stretchers) should be in a simple black frame. If you have any questions about this please ask. Work framed inappropriately will not be shown.
All accepted work must be delivered to Swoon on, or before, June 30, 2014.
I look forward to drooling over your submissions!
