Artists around the world are invited to take part in the international competition organized by the Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2015 for the spring of next year. The GIC Biennale 2015 welcomes works by artists that re-interpret traditional values of ceramics in truly unique ways, breaking away from the conventional dichotomy of ceramics as ‘design’ and ceramics as ‘art’, a boundary that is increasingly blurred. This competition will focus on the possibilities for ceramic art to expand its territory by discovering artworks of mixed materials and made by techniques of other genres and ceramics fused with other genres of art, not to mention the values inherent to ceramics.
