It’s time for a Good Ol’ Manitoba Social – a Good Ol’ Manitoba Craft Social that is! The Manitoba Craft Council and the Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library are thrilled to be announcing their partnership on developing a new hub for Craft in Manitoba. Doesn’t every “marriage” need a “wedding social”? And so, the Craft Social is born. Mark your calendars on April 9th to get your Craft on for an evening of fun activity booths, a craft auction, music, food, and dancing – the perfect way to celebrate and support Craft in our province. Funds raised will go to help the two organizations with the renovation of space for the new Craft hub. So get ready to celebrate this unique partnership and raise some cash for Craft.
Over the coming weeks you will see calls to support this event.
During the Craft Social we will be holding a craft auction and are currently seeking donations of handmade work from members of the Manitoba Craft Council and the Manitoba Craft Museum and Library, and the wider community.
Each donation will go a long way in helping raise fund for the new craft space, a space that will benefit Manitoba Craftspeople through exhibitions, education, preserving the history of craft and acting as a community meeting space.
Artists are asked to choose if they would like to donate 50%, 75% or 100% of the price the piece sells for to the new Craft Hub.
If you are interested in donating a work of craft for the auction please contact Jennifer Smith [email protected] by March 14th.
Please include a photo or description of the work, medium and dimensions in your email.
Drop off of works will be during the week of April 4th.
