GROS MORNE CRAFT RESIDENCY

The Craft Council of Newfoundland & Labrador is seeking proposals from professional craftspeople to lead a crafts residency planned for the Gros Morne Region between January and March 2017.
 What it involves:
-A 3-4 week stay in the Gros Morne Region
-A two-day workshop for people living in the region
-Advisory sessions with craftspeople, craft or heritage groups in the region, maximum of twelve hours in total
-A day spent at a local school working with students
-An informal artist talk about you and your work, probably an evening event
-Studio time spent developing your own work
-Wheels! –a vehicle is essential!
What to send us:
-A portfolio
-A current cv
-A statement of how the residency will contribute to the artistic development of your own work
-A description of the workshop that you propose to lead
-An outline of a proposed art activity with school children, and preferred age group
-A description of how your background will enable you to advise craftspeople, craft or heritage groups in the region, and how you think your skills will benefit the development of their products and programs
-Your preferred time for 3-4 week residency period between Jan 2 & Mar 31, 2017; your preferred location (Julia Ann Walsh Heritage Centre, Norris Point or Artist’s Residence, Woody Point)
