Simultaneously a verb, adjective and noun, light can be many things. The beauty of light can guide, dazzle, comfort, signal or illuminate. But to light is also to spark or ignite, to understand. Call for entries around the mysterious properties of light.
How do you explore the concept of light within your practice? Are you interested in the symbolic meaning that light carries across so many cultures? Perhaps you are investigating the material qualities of luminescence, translucence, reflection or even weight within your work?
We are committed to exhibiting a broad range of relevant, well-executed work.
This exhibition is open to all VMAA members in good standing. Anyone can be a VMAA member regardless of nationality or residence. Non-members are eligible to apply for an extra non-members fee, which includes membership in the VMAA for the remainder of the calendar year.
All submissions must be original, demonstrate good skill level and comprise techniques related to metalsmithing and/or contemporary art jewellery.
All submissions must be for sale.
All submissions must have been fabricated within the past 3 years and not exhibited in previous VMAA exhibitions
All accepted submissions must be shipped and returned within Canada.
Selection decisions made by the jury are final.
The VMAA exhibition committee reserves the right to refuse work upon delivery that is not as represented in the submitted photograph(s).
Wall pieces and sculpture work must be ready for installation and come complete with hanging wire or hanging device and installation props.
