This class will give beginners and intermediate users a working knowledge of 3D modelling techniques, enabling them to use design software in their own work. Students will produce a minimum of three 3D printed objects in a range of scales and materials.

Supplies: Participants are required to supply their own portable computer with the following:
- Microsoft Windows 7 or later or OSX |macOS 10.11 or later (4GB system RAM)
- Software. *A free trial version of the following is available:
- Rhino 3D https://www.rhino3d.com/download
- Additional open source/free modeling software will be discussed within this workshop.

About the artist:
To date, Jason Hare’s work has focused heavily on the craft and communication associated with techniques surrounding digital modelling and digital fabrication. By using the hand, body and mind, Jason has generated a deep understanding of materialized form. Jason has instructed and researched various techniques for how physical forms can create a relationship between digital drawings. The result of these techniques gives Jason the ability to communicate information with accuracy between both human and machine, ultimately bridging the gap developed by different forms of digital craft. Jason Hare B.ED, MLA, is the FABLab Manager at the U of M, Faculty of Architecture.
