THE MANITOBA YOUTH FOR CLIMATE ACTION ARE LEADING THE PLANNING OF THE SEPTEMBER 27TH CLIMATE STRIKE IN WINNIPEG.

Manitoba Craft Council’s #CRAFTFORTHECLIMATE

The average Canadian purchases 70 new clothing items and sends 81 lbs of textile and clothing waste to the landfill every single year. This contributes to the 12 million tons of textile waste sent to North American landfills annually.

We invite the public to learn how knitting looms can quickly and easily transform waste textiles at the Global Climate Strike. Participants are welcome to bring a piece of tattered clothing and encouraged to cut clothing into strips and add rows of knitting to our community recycled textile project.

Look for the MANITOBA CRAFT COUNCIL banner at the Manitoba Legislative Building on September 27th.
