Artist Cathie Ugrin will be having a Trunk Show of recent textile and quilted works at the C2 Retail Shop!
Works available will include:
Window View (21″H x 17″W) is a piece of fibre art that captures the mood of the present day situation – seeing the world through a window pane, the beauty of nature as she has a chance to recover and the fact that there is no focal point as we try to navigate through the unknown.
Vacation Interrupted (46″H x 18″W) reflects on the phenomenon that happened when life as we know it was abruptly halted in March. I have taken a lovely cotton panel of a tropical scene, cut it into strips and then stitched it back together in a disjointed composition. The image is still recognizable but no longer in its original format.
Everything made for this show/sale has been created out of fabric scraps, most of which have come from the over 300 masks that Cathie Ugrin has made since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
