Deadline to register: April 8
Deadline to submit artwork and other donations: April 17
As we come to the end of a very isolating year, we’re all missing someone, and we’re all looking for ways to connect while remaining safe. MCC wants to reinvigorate our sense of community by inviting local craftspeople and artists to share their artwork or experiences that could help people re-connect.
MCC invites you to submit artwork or experiences for the Reaching Out Online Raffle slated for April-May 2021. We encourage you to play with and explore the idea of reaching out in whatever way inspires and intrigues you. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of donated artworks and experiences will support craft and craftspeople in Manitoba through a one-time professional development bursary fund, to be disbursed to local craftspeople in 2021. Let’s support the growth and learning of our local community of makers during a difficult time.
Some ideas to inspire you! You may wish to share:
- Your skills through a virtual class for a group of friends (eg. learn to knit socks, make samosas, braid hair, whittle!)
- Your art or craft work, in a way that would bring people together (eg. two coffee cups to be shared during a coffee date over Zoom or by phone)
- Little pick-me-ups that could be shared between two or more people (eg. delivery of homemade pies to two friends, encouraging a shared coffee date by Zoom or phone)
- Cards or other easily mailable items
- Anything else that might bring folks into community
Can anyone submit?
Anyone can make a submission. You do not have to be an MCC member to participate.
