The Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery is calling for submissions to the 2022 Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics. In order to be considered, applications for the award must be received electronically by Sunday, May 15, 2022.
This prestigious national award allows practising emerging ceramic artists to undertake a period of independent research, or other activitiesthat advance their artistic and professional practice. The winner of the award will receive $10,000. Up to 5 finalists will also each receive a prize of $1,000 to help further their careers. The selection is made by a jury comprised of respected contemporary ceramic artists and other arts professionals.
The winner and up to five finalists will have their work featured in a group exhibition alongside the winner and finalists of the RBC Award for Glass at the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery from September 2022 to January 2023.
Each of these awards, alongside our exhibitions and programs demonstrate the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery’s commitment to supporting emerging artists at this pivotal point in their career.
