Want to see your functional pots, sculptures, installations, performance, or social practice–based work in the September issue of Ceramics Monthly? Apply to our annual readership-wide contest! This year’s theme is “Elemental.” Whether your work is inspired by the earth, those things essential to daily life, or the foundational elements of design, we look forward seeing what you share!
To be considered for the “Elemental” competition, please submit the following materials and a $10 processing fee via Submittable by June 21, 2022:
- Up to five high-resolution (300 ppi) digital images that are at least 2500 pixels in the largest dimension (or at least 5×7 inches in print size at 300 dpi resolution). The images can show five different works, or they can be a combination of overall and detail shots of fewer than 5 works/installations/performances.
- Complete caption information for each image including materials, processes used, firing temperature, dimensions, and date completed
- Contact information (including email)
- Current artist statement and résumé saved as a PDF, Word, or .txt document.
Note on image editing: Please do not downsample, blow up/enlarge, or otherwise alter images, including color correction or altering the background (such as outlining the objects). All selected images will be edited by the production staff prior to publication.
