Calling all Winnipeg and Manitoba 2SLGBTQIA+ artists! Queerious is back with this year’s exhibition titled “Summer CAMP,” and submissions are now open!
The main theme for this year’s show is Camp. A lot of queer aesthetics are often considered camp, so let’s lean into that! Make the most ostentatious, exaggerated, eccentric, extra art that you can! Also, in the original Pride flag, green stands for nature, symbolizing the connection that queer people have to the natural world and that queerness is something that is natural.
Queerious is about representing 2SLGBTQIA+ artists in Winnipeg and Manitoba and the work they make. If your work doesn’t fit into the above theme, please still submit it! You do not need to make new work to submit.
Any medium accepted, two- or three-dimensional. With a limit of 5 submissions per artist. The exhibition will be at The Edge Gallery (611 Main Street) from May 26 – June 6, 2023. Please send high-quality images of your work (jpeg or png), with the title of the work and dimensions, and a short artist bio of 100-200 words to [email protected]. Please include your pronouns with your submission. Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 pm CDT on April 28, 2023.
