Call for Submission- Craft in Miniature: Manitoba Craft Council’s Member Show 2025

The theme for the 2025 Manitoba Craft Council Member Show is Craft in Miniature! Show us all the teenie-tiny crafted items coming out of your studio space. All Manitoba Craft Council members are welcome to submit recent works in craft, and all submissions will be accepted. Submissions do not need to fit the classic definition of a miniature (ie. a tiny replica of something much larger), rather they must fit into the maximum size requirement of 15cm x 15cm x 15cm or 6 x 6 x 6 in.

Submit your work through the Google Form HERE

Eligibility:

-open to all current Manitoba Craft Council members at any membership level

-one piece of recent work (made in the last three years) may be submitted per person

-work must be of original design; it may be functional, decorative, or conceptual

-all craft-based media and techniques are welcome (eg. ceramics, textiles, wood, metal, glass, jewellery, paper, etc.)

– Please do not submit non-craft items such as: paintings, drawings, photography

– Please submit small works that respond to the theme ‘Miniature Craft’; work may be no larger than 15cm x 15cm x 15cm or 6” x 6” x 6”

– All submissions from up-to-date members will be accepted.

Deadlines:

-Submission Form: December 1st, 2024 at midnight 

-Drop off:

December 4th-7th, 2024 | 12-4 pm
December 11th-14th, 2024 | 12-4pm
December 18th+19th, 2024 | 12-4pm

*Please directly contact the MCC if drop-off times are incompatible with your schedule

-Pick up: March 5th onwards Wed-Sat 12-4pm

 

Terms:

-artists/craftspeople will receive a 60% commission on any work sold during the exhibition. The price listed on your application will be the retail price listed on the work. Artists may mark works as NFS (Not For Sale.)

-all work will remain on display for the full duration of the show.  Work that is sold will be picked up by buyers at the exhibition’s end.  All unsold work will be picked up by the artist at the exhibition’s end.

 

Promotion:

MCC will be promoting the exhibition through its media and social media networks. All participating artists are encouraged to promote the exhibition widely through their social media and personal networks as well. Digital promotional materials for the show will be sent to all participating artists.
