Through Words and Deeds features oral history clips from 30 artists, all recorded by MCML between 2006 and 2024. These short videos are the artists’ own stories, in their own words, allowing the viewer to learn about their personal perspective on their craft and how it fits into Manitoba’s broader craft and art community. To complement these videos, the exhibit also includes a work by each artist.
Artists include: Adriana Alarcón, PJ Anderson, Barbara Balfour, Cynthia Boehm, Herman De Vries, Pat Findlay, Tashina Houle-Schlup, Carol James, Matt Jenkins, Kathryne Koop, Jennine Krauchi, Alan Lacovetsky, Candace Lipischak, Delza Longman, Valerie Metcalfe, Grace Nickel, Valerie Olsen, Amanda Onchulenko, Willow Rector, Paul Robles, Karen Rudolph, Fred Spence, Judy Stewart, Jo-Anne Tabacheck, Daria Tittenberger, Peter Tittenberger, Lois Tully, Shirley Tyderkie, Cathie Ugrin and Jordan Van Sewell.
