Filet Lace: Meander in the Grid Workshop with Jade Yumang

The Manitoba Craft Council and the School of Art Gallery, University of Manitoba are excited to present Filet Lace: Meander in the Grid Workshop with Jade Yumang! This workshop introduces filet lace, an openwork textile that utilizes netting as its gridded base. You will learn to create a square or rectangular net using a netting shuttle, which acts as the foundation for various embroidery stitches. These stitches include darning, cloth stitch, interlocking, darned points, and darned wheels. Materials will be provided and all skill levels welcomed. This workshop is free to attend but requires advance registration. Register to attend through the form below!
Experience with textiles or needlework is an asset but not required.
