Wool and textile art and design residency (all art and design disciplines are welcome) April – December 2025
At Det Vilde Spinderi, our team is a testament to the power of specialized knowledge and dedicated craftsmanship. We offer a unique opportunity for artists and creatives to immerse themselves in a supportive and inspiring environment, fostering a community of collaboration and innovation.
What sets us apart is our deep expertise in working with locally sourced wool. Our team engages in the entire process, from freshly sheared wool to washing, carding, and spinning. This hands-on approach allows us to discover and highlight the versatility of wool as a medium. Our specialized knowledge enhances and influences each step of the process. We invite you to work on your indepedent project in the workshop space on the 1st floor of our spinning mill. If you want to work with our wool, this is also an opportunity!
The beautiful landscape of Odsherred is a sight to behold. The entire region has been designated a UNESCO Global Geopark due to its Ice Age landscape and the reclaimed Lammefjord’s crucial cultural and historical significance.
Through our residency program, participants have access to dedicated studio space where they can engage with like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and gain new perspectives. Our program is designed to encourage experimentation and growth, providing the time and space for artists to develop their practice.
By supporting emerging talent and fostering a culture of creativity, we aim to contribute significantly to the artistic landscape.
In addition, we are very open to collaborating with artists interested in hosting workshops that invite and engage the local community. We will assist with marketing these workshops and are happy to discuss a fair income split. This initiative not only provides a platform for artists to share their expertise but also strengthens the connection between art and the community, enriching the culture of the region.
