The Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library (MCML) seeks a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work on an exhibit project. We are planning to research, develop and install an exhibit to celebrate “Craft at Large”, which will focus on close up elements about craft. Content will also be prepared for use on the website and through our social media channels. We will also host 2-3 public programs to support the exhibit content.
The student will also be responsible for visitor services and shop staffing, and perform light janitorial/maintenance in the gallery.
MCML is a dynamic small museum with a focus on craft, located in the C2 Centre for Craft, a facility shared with the Manitoba Craft Council. As such, it is an exciting venue for those interested in craft and art, as it features both historic and contemporary work. The MCML collection is one of the oldest in Manitoba, established in the early 1930s, and now holding over 11,000 objects. MCML is a supportive workplace that values its employees, and provides a quality work and learning experience to student employees.
MCML is a PC/Windows (not MAC) based workplace.
