The Winnipeg Arts Council invites local artists to submit Expressions of Interest and Qualifications to create a public artwork for the St. James Civic Centre Expansion Project, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Treaty 1 Territory and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. The selected artist/team will create a permanent artwork to be integrated with an interior feature wall in the central lobby hall.
Deadline: Tuesday, July 22, 2025
Budget: $100,000
The artwork will be selected through a two-stage process, with the first stage focused on the artist’s approach and qualifications.
Interested artists must submit a complete application package to be considered, as outlined in the Call to Artists below.
We encourage applications from all professional artists, including Indigenous artists—First Nations, Métis, and Inuit—as well as from Black, racialized, 2SLGBTQ+, non-binary, Deaf artists, and artists with disabilities.
