Building Accessibility
Review the Arts Accessibility Network Manitoba’s Accessible Venue Report for the C2 Centre for Craft
Main Entrance (non-accessible)
– We have a buzzer system to gain access to our building.
-Press ‘22’ on the keypad on the right side of the door
-It will make a ringing sound while it buzzes
-A C2 staff member will answer and ‘buzz’ you in
-There will be a short beep followed by a click of the door latch
-Give the door a push and it should open
– The C2 Centre for Craft has a half step to enter the front door, and once inside the door, an additional six steps to arrive at the main entrance, located directly in front of the steps
Accessible Entrance
– Our accessible entrance is located on the right side of the building in the Impark parking lot
– There is a full ramp with hand railings that leads to a side entrance to our building. There are no lips or steps to enter the building via the ramp
– Our building has transitioned to a locked building with a buzzer system, so the wall button to open the accessible entrance is no longer functional.
– Please call us at 204.615.3951 when you arrive and a staff member will be happy to open the door and assist you into the C2 Centre. Alternatively, visitors can contact the C2 Centre and make an appointment to visit, and our staff will be waiting at the accessible entrance to let you in when you arrive.
Wayfinding once you are inside the accessible entrance:
Washrooms
– The C2 Centre has two gender neutral family style washrooms that are large enough for a wheelchair to access
– There are two grab bars in each washroom, one located behind the toilet, and the second to the side of the toilet.
– Sinks are wall mounted
– We do not have a baby changing table, but our staff members can provide you access to a space to change your baby if needed while visiting
Parking
– Please pay careful attention to parking signs in the Exchange District.
– There is paid parking available in the Impark lot (shown in blue) along Cumberland (on the east side of C2/the right side when you are facing the main entrance). Please be sure to read the sign carefully though as many spaces are reserved.
– There is also 2 hour metered street parking (shown in yellow) on Hargrave, Cumberland and Notre Dame (which includes 2 hours free on Saturdays). Metered parking is done through paybyphone with options to pay via their app, online at paybyphone.com or by calling 888.680.7275. We can provide visitors a phone to pay for their parking, if needed.
– 15 minute loading zone (shown in pink) in front of the centre that can be used to drop off individuals before parking.
– 2 hour free parking (shown in orange) is available west of Hargrave on Notre Dame in the south (left) lane of the one way street. The North (right) lane also has two hour free parking, but has towing enforced at peak hours, so please check signs carefully if you are parking in the north lane.
