Learning Ebru, the process of Turkish paper marbling, has been a fascinating discovery for me. I enjoy the process of manipulating paints on a watery surface, then transferring the image onto paper. I am stimulated by traditional marbling patterns, but also like to improvise with new colours and designs. Marbling has led me to bookbinding, where I can use my papers and other materials like parchment and suede to make journals and albums. Historic book structures provide models and invitations for further experimentation. My work is represented in the Manitoba Arts Council Visual Arts Bank and has been exhibited in Canada and elsewhere. I received a Manitoba Arts Council Grant in 1996 and was an Artist-in-Residence at the Minnesota Center Book for Arts in 2000.
