Erika Hanneson

  • clay

I am both a ceramic artist and a painter, finding inspiration in the natural world. Recently, I have transitioned from heavily textured surfaces into smooth but highly decorative surfaces in my ceramic work. In this way, I have shifted my process of floral painting from paper and canvas to the multi-dimensional surfaces of ceramic work. I received my BFA from the School of Art at the University of Manitoba. I maintain a private studio in Gimli, Manitoba, am a member of the Gimli Art Club, and I work for the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
