Heather Lepp

  • Ceramics
Heather Lepp is an emerging artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She graduated from the University of Manitoba’s School of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours Degree in 2016. From 2016-2019 she continued her studies working as an apprentice to Marcelina Salazar, Peter Brondz, Martin Tagseth, and Cathi Jefferson. In 2019, she also completed a four-month long Flex residency at Medalta in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Statement:
I create functional ceramics with a focus on ergonomics. A concern with ‘throw-away’ consumerist culture facilitated my interest in creating communal and contemplative work. I utilize line and glaze divisions to emphasize form, while small embellishments on the surface are meant to invite intimacy. My work strives to enhance daily life; to be thoughtful, cheerful, and a pleasure to live with.
