James Turowski
James Turowski (he/him) is a Winnipeg-based artist and curator living and working on Treaty 1 Territory. He graduated in 2017 with his BFA Honours from the School of Art at the University of Manitoba. Working in craft mediums such as textiles and ceramics he challenges the expected traditions of those mediums while picking up on the queer issues surrounding craft mediums and identity. Utilizing text, symbolism, and queer history to provide a record of queer experiences in his work.
