The images seen here are from the Birthing Project, 2007-08. This fused and lamp worked glass installation was created in collaboration with the Manitoba Maternity Care Action Network as part of the Winnipeg Arts Council’s WITH ART program. This project was an opportunity to stretch my mind, to research ancient to modern birthing practices, to meet with groups of young mothers and to learn new techniques to translate their visions into glass. The Birthing Project is a celebration of all our mothers and an acknowledgement of their strength and beauty.
