Bandolier

  • Beading

This is a beautiful example of a bandolier bag that features large panels of colourful floral beadwork, and beaded tassels. In the Anishinaabeg language, “bandolier bag” translates to aazhooningwa’igan(ag), meaning “worn across the shoulder. The bags were inspired by the cartridge bags of European soldiers during the early nineteenth century, and then became adapted for functionality.
