This white baby gown has crochet edging, ribbons, and a floral crest design with a vertical pattern design. The maker, Ellen Etta McBain Sutherland, known as Nell, was born in Quebec around 1880s before the entire McBain family moved to Winnipeg. She was a milliner and was known for highly anticipated handmade items. This baby gown was made for her only son, Newell Kenneth Sutherland in 1924.
