Mittens – Beaded

  • Beading

These mittens have a charming feature – a small beaded flower on the thumbs. The silk ribbon work marks these mittens as being made by the Dene speaking people, but the beadwork has strong Métis characteristics. Therefore these mittens likely originated with the Cree or Cree-Métis people from northern Manitoba.
