Picture, Rug Hooking
This work was hooked using nylon stockings by Delza Longman. A label on the back says: “This hooked hanging was done to usher in 2000, it shows three ages. The prehistoric on bottom with the Phoenix rising from the ashes but the flames are more colourful. The central panel shows a sculpture done by one woman – for modern times – and I think that we human beings do often have holes in our heads. The upper panel is the hereafter and I just hope there is a peace dove there.”
