Placemat – Wheat Embroidery
During the Great Depression, the Crafts Guild of Manitoba decided to feature their very own Manitoba designs on textiles. This piece was the first of many wheat designs. The Crafts Guild purchased quality linen from abroad and members were responsible for cutting the cloth into the right sizes for placemats, bun warmers and tray cloths.
