Runner – Tatted
Tatting is made using only the double stitch; the complexity is how it all links together. This work has been done for centuries, but the actual craft of tatting using a needle or a shuttle emerged in the 16th century. This piece was made using seventy-seven medallions, all with two rings of buttonhole motifs. It was likely a dresser runner.
