Wall Hanging
Tapa cloth is made throughout the islands of the South Pacific from the bark of the Paper Mulberry tree, which is pounded until it becomes pliable like cloth. Used traditionally as a wall hanging to keep out draughts, and also for clothing. The design is painted in a reddish brown natural pigment made from Mangrove trees.
