The Mendocino Art Center offers an Artist in Residence program each year with residencies in ceramics, painting, jewelry/metalsmithing, sculpture and fiber arts.
The AIR program provides a community-based environment that facilitates both educational and individual artistic growth at the Mendocino Art Center (MAC). The AIR program, now in its 51st year, was developed to bring emerging and established studio artists to this unique Northern California region to provide both time and space to develop their work. The 2012/13 residency year is September 10, 2012 through May 18, 2013.
The opportunity to work within a community of artists that are actively creating art, while sharing in growth, challenges, personal refinements, and both small and large victories, is but one layer of our program. What reinforces this experience, the core, is the friendships and connections that build new bridges, strengthens careers and enriches life itself. All of these ideals require great dedication and the results are forever rewarding.
