Call for MCC's Gallery Wall and First Fridays in the Exchange (deadline August 23)

The Manitoba Craft Council is introducing a new exhibition opportunity for its members.  As part of its new office in the Exchange District (553-70 Arthur St.), the MCC is designating one wall as a space for members to exhibit their work to the public.  One MCC member will be featured each month.  The selected artists will be responsible to install and de-install their work and host an opening as part of the First Fridays in the Exchange initiative.  Each artist will be paid an honorarium of $100.
All current MCC members are eligible to apply.  Featured artists will be selected by a small committee of their peers.
Next Deadline – August 23, 2013 (spots available in October and December, 2013)
Functional, decorative and/or conceptual work in any craft-based media are welcome. Due to space limitations and the functional nature of the office, submitted work should be able to hang on the wall, be displayed on shelves attached to the wall or, in the case of floor pieces or furniture, not extend more than .5 m from the wall.  Work shown will have been created within the past three years.
