Flashback Friday :: Robert Wilson

Many of you will be familiar with Robert Wilson, an accomplished wood turner with a long history of connection to the Manitoba Craft Council.  In 2010, his work was selected for Prairie Excellence, an exhibition of contemporary craft jointly organized by the Craft Councils of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.  Visitors in ten galleries across the prairie provinces were exposed to some of the finest craft work being produced in this region of the country, including Robert’s graphically stunning Sliced Antler Vessel.
Below is an article featuring Robert’s work (date sometime in the range of 2000-06, source unknown) found in the MCC’s archives.
Wilson Wilson 2And, in a brochure created for the MCC’s 14th annual juried spring exhibition (in 1999 or 2000) we see Robert’s work singled out for a Juror’s Award.
