Nantong International Craft Competition, China

2014 Nantong International Craft Biennale is pleased to present the theme on“Past, Today and Future of Arts and Crafts”and sincerely invited the world artists  to participate in the competition.
Our intention is to acknowledge the value of craft which has developed between familiarity and originality in the course of time and space, and to explore its various futures.
With this in mind, the 2014 Nantong International Craft Biennale intents to respond such philosophical questions as “tradition and modern”, “Aesthetics and function” , “Content and Form” and reveal the real level of modern and contemporary arts and crafts.
Awarded works of the competition will be arranged by the committee to be exihibited on the 2014 Nantong Internationa lContemporary Craft Biennale. The Competition Organizing Committee will invite over ten international experts as the juries. Grand,Gold, Silver, Bronze prizes and Selected award are set, Grand,Gold, silver and Bronze awarded works will be reserved by the competition Organizing Committee.
The competition will be divided into two stages. During the first stage,participants need to accomplish the ONLINE Application from according to the intruductions on the website (www.nticb.com) and provide the electronic pictures and introductions of the entry work.
The second stage, selected works which will be informed after the first stage (actual artwork) need to be sent to thedesignated address via specified shipping company.
Genres
Sculpture(Woodwork or Stonework and ect.),Ceramics ,Metal craft, Lacquerware, Glass, Fiber Art , Weave (bamboo weaving ,straw weaving ,Textile etc.), Carpet & Tapestry,Jewellery, Traditional crafts(eg. Printing and Dyeing,Traditional Culture Costume etc.),Embroideryas well as other 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional works that creatively constructs the contemporary craft art values of functionality or aesthetics using natural or man-made materials.
Qualifications for entry
-An original piece of work made within the last 3 years which has not yet been exhibited domestically or internationally.
-Size, weight and form needs to be appropriate for indoor display and transportation.
-Art work is subject to disqualification if it is deemed to have been plagiarized from another work.
Qualifications
Individuals or groups (no more than 3 persons per group) of all nationalities and genders are welcome to apply.

Up to 2 pieces per person or group
Entry Standard Requirements
Works must not exceed 200cm in width, height and length after installation.
