Craft Hilton Head 2014

The 2014 Fine Art Craft Hilton Head exhibition seeks 3D fine art craft entries that encompass exemplary creativity, experimentation and imagination, showcasing what can be accomplished with few restrictions. Up to 75 works will be chosen by an esteemed jury based upon artistic excellence, innovation and originality. Cash prizes in the amount of $1,500 will be awarded by judge and gallery owner Wally Smith. This exhibition will be free and open to the public from December 9, 2014 through January 3, 2015 at Art League of Hilton Head’s Walter Greer Gallery located in Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island, SC. An opening reception and awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 11th from 5-7pm. Art League of Hilton Head is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization built on a membership of talented artists, students and arts supporters who work together to advance the mission to support and promote visual arts through exhibition, education and partnerships. Deadline for applications is September 30.
Eligibility:
The 2014 Fine Art Craft Hilton Head exhibition is open to all artists, over 18 years of age, submitting entries of 3D fine art crafts in sculpture, basketry, glass, fiber sculpture and fiber wall hangings, metal works, works in clay, handmade artist books and paper sculpture, jewelry, weaving, woodworking and assemblage.
Work must have been completed within the last two years.
All works should not exceed 7’x3’x3’ (including pedestal) or weigh more than 75lbs.  Free standing sculptures should need no special mounting. We are unable to accept work that is suspended from the ceiling.
A non-refundable fee of $40 enables each artist to enter up to 3 works and may submit up to two images per work.
Dates:
Deadline for applications is September 30, 2014.
Notification date for acceptances: November 1, 2014.
Installation Date: December 8, 2014.
Exhibition Date: December 9, 2014 through January 3, 2015.
All shipped artwork must arrive at UPS before Thursday, December 4, 2015.
All artwork dropped off in person must be on December 8, 2014.
