Pocosin Arts Residency

Qualifications
Self–motivated artists with a clear focus are encouraged to apply. The strongest candidates are those who have demonstrated commitment to their craft through study, time spent in the studio or professional experience that is evident in their work. Teaching experience in the form of classes or workshops is a plus and classes or workshops instruction in small metals, jewelry, clay, fiber, book arts, painting, drawing, writing and music are all welcome. The submission packet should include: a cover letter clearly outlining your interest in the residency and what you hope to accomplish while in residence, a resume, and at least 10 images of work.
Responsibilities/Compensation
Resident Artists agree to work 20 hours per week in exchange for a living space and studio access. Duties are assigned based on individual strengths, but generally include office work and helping to organize workshops and events. Duties may also include maintenance, gardening or light housework.  Community outreach, such as working in our local schools may also be a part of the residency.
