Port Moody 2015 Wearable Art Awards

The Wearable Art Awards is not a fashion show, it is a multi-media performance where the human body becomes a living, breathing, moving canvas. We are asking artists to go deep into their imaginations to create a wearable piece of art that challenges what most consider to be wearable, or everyday fashion.We are committed to challenging artists of all mediums to push their imaginations to create evocative, imaginative and thought provoking sculpture for the human body.

Performance: February 21 & 22, 2015 @ Port Moody’s Inlet Theatre & Galleria

Exhibition: February 26 -April 2, 2015 @ Port Moody Arts Centre

Categories:

An entry must fall into one of the following three form-based categories:

  • Headdress
  • Brassiere (female or male)
  • Complete Outfit (*)

(*) To be considered a complete outfit, the entry should cover a model’s upper and lower body. Please do not include shoes; shoe covers are better for the models/dancers.
A total of $7500 will be awarded!
Three major prize categories: Best in Show ($1000), Student Prize ($750) and People’s Choice ($1000)
All entries will also be judged by the following classes, with a total of $4750 in prize money being awarded:

  • Light
  • Recycling
  • Nature
  • Cartoons
  • Offbeat
