WWI Commemorative Quilt Project

An open invitation to all who sew, including quilters and embroiderers, the Cabot Quilters Guild welcomes you to make a 10 1/2″ quilt block commemorating Newfoundland & Labrador’s involvement in World War One. Blocks will be featured on their website, and assembled into quilts, which will travel the province. In 2018, the quilts will be donated to the Canadian War Museum. For more information, follow the project on Facebook here.
The project: to create quilts with blocks made by quilters from Newfoundland and Labrador. All guild members are invited to submit quilt blocks commemorating their family, community or another aspect of the provinces role in WWI. Quilt blocks will be assembled as group projects by each participating guild.
Quilts will be displayed in public areas, such as The Rooms and Arts and Culture Centres, throughout the province. Please check back for more information as the project progresses.
