Creating and elevating the handmade is growing in Winnipeg. In partnership with the WAG and Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association, the Manitoba Craft Council is proud to present the second-annual CRAFTED, a juried show and sale that features craft at the Winnipeg Art Gallery; highlights local artists in Manitoba and Nunavut; and incorporates a philanthropic component that ensures the handmade becomes the hand given (see call to quilters/sewers below).
In 2015, more than 3,500 browsed, bought, mingled, and learned. Over $35,000 was raised to support craft artists through initiatives that promote their art form at the WAG, and artists’ combined sales exceeded $100,000! Five art-making workshops sold out in advance and participants marvelled at their newly-acquired skills. Watch for information about this year’s DIY workshops!
Tickets $5/day • Kids under 12 free • NEW! Includes admission to WAG galleries • Tickets available online or at the door
