URBAN GLASS MFA SURVEY EXHIBITION

UrbanGlass seeks applications for our 2017 MFA Exhibition (title TBD). The exhibition will feature the work of 3-5 recent graduates of North American MFA programs whose work features glass. Each of the finalists will be represented by up to 3 artworks in the exhibition, which offers an international showcase for new and noteworthy talent in the field. Chosen by the selection committee, exhibiting artists will receive an honorarium for their participation, and the exhibition will be documented in GLASS: The UrbanGlass Art Quarterly.The exhibition will be on view at UrbanGlass from April-May 2017. We hope that participating artists will be able to attend the opening reception in April– attendance is not a requirement.
Eligibility- The UrbanGlass MFA Exhibition is open to MFA graduates of programs in the United States and Canada who use glass in their work. For the 2017 competition, artists must have received their MFAs from Summer 2014 through Summer 2016.
Selection Process- A committee comprised of artists, critics, educators and UrbanGlass staff members will select the 3-5 exhibiting artists.
Deadline- All entries must be submitted via email by Friday, November 4th at midnight EST.
Shipping/Insurance- Artists who are selected to participate will be responsible for shipping their work to and from UrbanGlass, and providing insurance during transit. UrbanGlass will insure the work while on the premises.
Guidelines- All images submitted must be of the same artwork being entered into the exhibition. All artwork entered must be available for sale.
Sales and Commissions- All artwork offered will be for sale. UrbanGlass will retain 40% of the purchase price. Shipping and insurance costs will be the responsibility of purchasers.

  • Up to 10 images of proposed work (titled with last name and number i.e. Smith1.jpeg, Smith2.jpeg, etc.)
  • Image list including title, date, medium, dimensions (PDF prefered)
  • Artist statement and description of submitted images  (PDF prefered)
  • Current resume/curriculum vitae  (PDF prefered)
