Creative Entrepreneurship is a one-day symposium for emerging artists to learn essential skills about growing their career in the arts, from finances, to grant-writing, to attracting media to your event. Learning comes from young, experienced local artists like this year’s Keynote Speaker Sarah Anne Johnson, and panelists Freya Olafson, Mike Petkau and writer/graphic novelist Gmb Chomichuk.
Creative Entrepreneurship is aimed to emerging artists leaving post-secondary education and looking for practical skills on how to grow their arts career, post-university. The symposium is open to anyone with an existing arts practice including visual artists, actors, craftspeople, dancers, filmmakers, musicians, new media content creators and writers. A continental breakfast and free lunch are included for the low price of admission.
Keynote speaker: Sarah Anne Johnson
Join world renowned, Winnipeg-based artist Sarah Anne Johnson as she discusses her acclaimed journey as a photographer and multi-disciplinary visual artist. From her graduate studies at the Yale School of Art, to multiple nominations for Canada’s coveted Sobey Art Award, to her most recent performance art work, Johnson will provide an illustrated overview of her career thus far.
Panelists:
Gmb Chomichuk: writer/graphic novelist
