For the Love of Craft 

Manitoba Craft Council’s 2019 Member Exhibition and Sale of Contemporary Craft 

January 4 – February 23, 2019 

Opening reception: Friday, January 11, 2019, 7 – 9 pm 

Open First Fridays in the Exchange, January 4 + February 1, 5 – 9 pm

C2 Centre for Craft

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS 

Deadline to submit work: December 20, 2018 

 

We encourage all MCC members  

-our founders and the newly minted – 

-senior and emerging craftspeople – 

-traditional and leading edge- 

– all craft media – 

to submit work and join us in celebrating 

Craft and the Community that is passionate about it! 

 

  

Eligibility: 

-open to all current Manitoba Craft Council members 

-one piece of recent work, made in the last three years, may be submitted 

-work must be of original design; may be functional, decorative, or conceptual 

-all craft-based media are welcome (eg. ceramics, textiles, wood, metal, glass, jewellery, paper, etc.) 

-in order to include as many pieces as possible, please submit work that has dimensions no greater than 30 x 30 x 30 cm and 6 lbs max.  Most works will be installed on the wall, with free-standing 3-dimensional works on floating shelves.   

 

Terms: 

-artists/craftspeople will receive a 60% commission for work sold during the exhibition 

-all work will remain on display for the full duration of the show.  Work that is sold will be picked up by buyers at the exhibition’s end.  All unsold work will be picked up by the artist at the exhibition’s end. 

-no need to notify the MCC office in advance of your intention to submit… just bring your work and filled in form to C2 during the artwork drop-off dates/times listed on the following page. 

 

Promotion: 

MCC will be promoting the exhibition through its media and social media networks. All participating artists are encouraged to promote the exhibition widely through their social media and personal networks as well. Digital promotional materials will be provided.

Art work drop off: Dec 5-20, 2018 

Wednesday-Saturday, 12 – 4 pm 

C2 Centre for Craft

When dropping off your work, ensure that: 

-your submission form is thoroughly filled in 

-your work is ready to install on the wall or small shelf 

-your piece is labeled with your name and title 

 

We will not be able to accept any work after Thursday, December 20, 2018, 4 pm. 

 

 

January 4 – February 23, 2019:  Exhibition Runs 

C2 Centre for Craft 

Wednesday to Saturday, 12 – 4 pm 

Gallery open First Fridays in January and February, 5-9 pm

7:30 pm: Greetings from MCC and presentation of MCC Bursary Award 

As always, we welcome all participating craft artists to bring dainties or hors d’oeuvres to share! 

 

 

February 25, 12-5 pm:  Unsold artwork pick up 

Unsold/NFS work should be picked up from C2 Centre for Craft on the de-installation day, Monday, February 25, 12-5 pm (preferred) or during the week of February 27-March 2, 2019, (Wed-Sat) 12 – 4 pm.  Artists whose work has sold will be notified in advance.
