CALL FOR ARTIST TALK PROPOSALS: Eco Craft 2022

Eco Craft 2022: A Year of Craft Addressing Climate Change

CALL FOR ARTIST TALK PROPOSALS

DEADLINE TO APPLY: NOVEMBER 14, 2021

How are you (or other craft artists) responding to the climate crisis through your work?

How can craft help us create a more sustainable future?

Do you have a big idea or project you’d like to share in an Artist Talk?

The Manitoba Craft Council seeks expressions of interest for artist talks in connection with our 2022 Eco Craft programming year. Craftspeople are invited to submit artist talk proposals relating to climate change and environmental sustainability through the lens of creative practice, technical direction, or conceptual considerations. All talk proposals must show a clear connection to both craft and sustainability. We are open to a variety of interpretations of these themes. Individual talks, pairs, and panel discussion ideas are welcome.

Successful applicants must be current MCC members. Membership is open to all and may be purchased here: http://ebf.031.myftpupload.com/about-mcc/mcc-membership/

Deadline to apply: Sunday November 14th, 2021 at Midnight

Talks are typically 45-60 minutes followed by a Q&A. Find some of our artist talks on our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/ManitobaCraftCouncil

Selected applicants will be paid CARFAC fees upon the completion of their talk. All programming for our 2022 programming year may be presented digitally and/or in person, depending on Covid levels and restrictions in the community. Digital talks will be held through Youtube Live, and in-person talks will be held at the C2 Centre for Craft in Winnipeg and recorded for presentation on MCC’s Youtube channel. Talks will be scheduled throughout 2022, at the discretion of MCC and the artist.
