CraftED Digital: Natural Dyeing Workshop with Lourdes Still

CraftED Digital: Natural Dyeing Workshop with Lourdes Still

Saturday, April 30th | 2-4pm

online via Zoom

After the last was so popular, we are excited to present another session of Lourdes Still’s Natural Dyeing workshop online! This workshop is brought to you by the Manitoba Craft Council in partnership with Arts Mosaic, Birtle Centre for the Arts, and the Mid-West Arts Council.

Workshop Description:

Experience the art of natural dyeing in the comforts of your home using locally grown botanical dyes. Have you ever wondered where your favorite colors come from? In this workshop, Lourdes, flower grower and natural dyer of Masagana Flower Farm will lead us in dyeing a silk scarf using Manitoba grown dye flowers. Marvel at the tinta (colors) we can get from coreopsis, cosmos sulfurus, black knight scabiosa and marigold, all hand-picked at the farm in the peak of summer season. Each kit includes one ready to dye silk scarf, a pouch of assorted dried dye flowers, string, elastic and digital copy of step-by- step instructions. The shipping cost for kits is included in the registration fee for those living in Manitoba.
