DEADLINE to apply: March 2, 2023

The C2 Shop features beautiful work made by professional, local craftspeople. The inventory is selected through a semi-annual, juried process and accepted on a consignment basis with 60% of sales paid to the artist and 40% retained by the MCC/MCML.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process will consist of two steps:

Step 1:
Submission of digital images and supporting documents to be reviewed by the jury.

Submit the following via Google Forms HERE

1. PDF including:
a. Image list with titles, description of materials/techniques used, and retail prices
b. 100 word artist bio (if you would like assistance with your bio please contact one of our staff members)

Please label your file, prior to uploading, with your last name and first initial (ef. DoeJ).

Please label your files, prior to uploading, with your last name, first initial and a number (eg. DoeJ1, DoeJ2, DoeJ3)

Applicants will be notified of results by March 17, 2023.

Step 2:
Those selected for inclusion in the C2 retail shop will be invited to present their work to members of the selection committee at an in-person or online meeting. The selection committee will choose pieces for inclusion in the C2 retail shop, a consignment agreement will be signed, and work will be taken into the shop inventory. Meetings will be scheduled at mutually convenient times in March-April 2023.  For northern or rural artists, alternative arrangements may be made on an individual basis.

ELIGIBILITY

Submissions will be accepted from current Manitoba Craft Council and Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library members.

Craft artists will be selected based on the artistic merit, excellence in design and form, innovation and functionality of their work (where the object has an intended function), and perceived saleability.  Original work in any craft-based medium is welcome: ceramic, fibre, metal, paper, recycled material, stone, glass and wood. In addition, mixed media and interdisciplinary works that are primarily craft-based in material and/or technique are welcome.  Work may be functional, decorative, or conceptual.  Consumables including candles, soaps and cosmetics, and food are not eligible at this time.
