CraftED: Needle Felted Tapestry with Maureen Winnicki Lyons

 

Workshop Description:

Using needle-felting tools and hand-washed, hand-dyed wool, participants will learn to create medium-sized needle-felted tapestries measuring 30cm x 25cm. The duration of workshop is four hours and is suitable for beginner to intermediate felters. All materials will be provided for this workshop, featuring wool from near and far from our collection of 200+ breeds all scoured by hand and hand-dyed at Wool Mountain (created between 2019 and 2022).

 

About the Instructor:

Maureen Winnicki Lyons has been an active member and volunteer in the craft community for over 20 years and is the founder of MWLminiMakers and Wool Mountain. MWL Wool Mountain is where you find Mindfulness is in The Making. Their specialty is 200+ unique breeds of wool from near and far but they also offer a variety of hand-crafted and hand-dyed goods, and weaving, felting and handspinning kits, as well as all manners of workshops and equipment rentals.

 

Accessibility Information about the space: 329 Cumberland has wheelchair access around the right side of the building. The C2 Centre has gender neutral family washrooms.
